The third card rule is handled automatically by the system — you don't need to memorize when it applies.
If either hand (Banker or Player) scores 8 or 9 with their first two cards, it is called a "Natural". The round ends immediately and no further cards are dealt to either side. The higher hand wins.
If there is no Natural, the Player draws a third card if their total is 0–5. If the Player's value is 6 or 7, the Player stands and takes no additional card.
The Banker's draw rules are more complex — they depend on the Banker's hand value AND the Player's third card (if drawn). You don't need to worry about this, though, as the bonusbear system handles it automatically in line with standard Punto Banco rules.
